Is it really free with no watermark?
Yes. There is no watermark, no signup, and no paid tier. Recordings are made and saved on your device.
Can it record the sound from my computer?
In Chrome and Edge, yes: tick Share audio in the sharing picker. A browser tab's sound can always be shared; the whole computer's sound depends on your operating system (Windows and ChromeOS support it). Firefox and Safari record the microphone only.
Is there a time limit?
No. The video is held in your browser until you download it, so very long recordings depend on your computer's free memory and disk space.
What format are the recordings?
Screen recordings save as WebM in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, because WebM keeps playing correctly when you resize or switch what you are sharing. Safari saves MP4, and webcam recordings save as MP4 where the browser supports it. Convert to MP4 turns any WebM into an MP4 that plays everywhere.
Does it work on my phone?
No. Phones and tablets do not let websites record the screen. Your phone's built-in screen recorder, in Control Center or Quick Settings, does the job instead.
Is my recording uploaded anywhere?
No. It is encoded in your browser and saved straight to your device.
