Video trimming questions
Does trimming reduce quality?
Not in Fast mode — it copies the original video and audio untouched. Exact mode re-encodes, which loses a small amount.
Why does the start handle jump in Fast mode?
Fast mode copies the video without re-encoding, and a copy can only start on a keyframe, so the handle snaps to them and shows exactly where the cut lands. Switch to Exact to cut on any frame.
Can I cut a section out of the middle?
Yes. Put the playhead where the unwanted part starts, press Split, then drag the new handles apart. The stretch between them is left out, and the rest is joined in one export.
