Privacy Policy

Most tools run entirely in your browser. Images, PDFs, video, audio, JSON, and text you open in them are processed on your own device and are not uploaded to us. Your saved preferences, such as the theme and some tool settings, are kept in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.

The API Request Playground sends your requests from your browser straight to the address you enter, not through our servers.

Video Downloader and Audio Downloader. The link you paste is sent to our server, which reads that page to find its video. When the video's host does not let your browser fetch the file directly, the file passes through our download service on its way to you. We do not keep copies of videos, and we do not keep a list of the links people look up.

Image Placeholder. Placeholder images are drawn on our server from the size and colours in their address.

The useSignal plugin for AI assistants. When an assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude uses a useSignal tool, it sends the input for that task to our server, which returns the result and does not store it.

Like any website, our hosting providers (Vercel and Cloudflare) keep short-lived request logs, which include your IP address, browser type, and the address requested, to run and protect the service. These are kept for a few days.

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which tools are used, which helps decide what to build next. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address and basic browser details. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies.

useSignal is free and is supported by ads served by Google AdSense. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to show ads based on your previous visits to this site and to other sites on the internet.

Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners show you ads based on your visits to useSignal and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of other vendors' personalised-ad cookies at aboutads.info. Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

useSignal links to other websites, such as Buy Me a Coffee for anyone who wants to support the project. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

useSignal is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
