Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. The editor runs ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly inside your browser, so the file never leaves your device.
Why is the first run slow to start?
The video engine is a one-time 32 MB download. After that it stays cached and later jobs start immediately.
How big a file can I edit?
Up to 500 MB. Browsers cap how much memory a page can use, and larger files fail rather than finishing slowly.
Why do some exports finish instantly and others take minutes?
Trims, cuts, and format changes that keep the codec copy the existing video stream untouched. Cropping, rotating, speed changes, text, fades, resizing, and compression re-encode every frame, which is far slower.
What is the difference between Fast and Exact cuts?
Fast copies the streams, so it is instant and lossless, and each part starts on a keyframe; the editor snaps to them so you see exactly where the cut lands. Exact re-encodes to cut on any frame.
Can I cut a section out of the middle?
Yes. Put the playhead where the cut should start, press Split, and drag the new handles apart. Everything between the parts is left out of the export.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, though phones have less memory and slower processors, so stick to shorter clips and smaller files.
